What people don't realize is that I'm both a magnifier and minimizer of voices: As I magnify one I minimize thousands.
The one will say he's the voice of the many. But sometimes I disagree so much with what I have to echo that I can't help but scream.
Those who have great power use me; I have started and ended wars.
Some people get nervous around me. They clear their voice and hear my boom, and frightening realizations pop into their head: that what is said here cannot be unsaid. They must tread carefully in the use of me, for I can be as punishing as empowering.
I hear and interpret, but I do not see. Provided I am given electricity and a speaker I will always do my job. But the ones who speak using me tend to forget their words soon after, or change their minds upon the meaning of what they'd said.
All I can do is echo, not act on what I emit. And I imagine it to be very similar for those who speak through me; they too repeat what they hear but do not follow its message.
But I will continue to do my job in the hope that one day my words will not fall on deaf ears, and I'll feel like I've done- or more truly, said- something worthwhile.
