A second. Superfluous.

Screaming streams of scarlet sauce screechingly stopping secession. Shrimp scallops, sixty seven seventy six. The diner: not a cent to spare. Senses scathed, tongues twisted.

They say if you look at a clock quickly the first second will appear to be longer. I don't know why. They didn't tell me.

And so back and forth flicked my eyes, a pendulum where the zero velocities of the sides last infinitely longer than the blurs in between.
