Alex was very smart, excpet around Sarah.

Often he would say things with conviction, but upon hearing her say the opposite was powerless to argue. Before he had known it he had agreed with her.

But the day came when his friends told him this, and he resolved to always say what he believed, even if she might disagree. He would not allow her to bring him to her insulting and uncouth level.

So after he made this resolve he was with her and as she introduced him to someone else she said, "This is my friend Alex. He's really smart!"

And Alex, unsure of what to do in the situation, denied and disagreed with that statement until she had to concede to what he was saying.
