He stared at the piece of paper. It stared back at him.
It was his nemesis, the crux of his problem. Such a simple idea on such a white surface, so innocent-looking, tiny symbols on a canvas.
He read the words over and over agaisnt until they lost their meaning. He did not understand.
Nowhere was the answer to what he so despresately wanted to know: where did he go wrong?
