"See, I'm not trying to discourage you from falling in love. I'm just trying to tell you the truth."

Their speaker today was a self-proclaimed realist. He proclaimed plenty of other things as well.

"When I was little, I dreamed of independence. I dreamed of biking Amsterdam. I dreamed of strolling through Central Park. I wanted to climb the steps of the Eiffel Tower."

"And the best part was, I didn't care. I didn't care if the place I was staying was disgusting or if I had to sleep on a park bench."

"Then love happened, and all that faded. So that's the problem with love. It makes you care way too damn much."
