The French were victorious.
As a tourist I had never watched soccer nor particularly liked France. But in a small tavern offshooting the Champs I found myself in front of the World Cup Final.
Quite a game I'm told it was. And as the final whistle shrilled out we ran, into the streets of the city, jumping and cheering with joy, not caring who was next to us.
I watched myself become friends with those I'd've never been associated with otherwise, all in the name of community.
