Right now, we're young.
Of the 195 countries in the world, we will visit an average of seven by the time we die. Most of us will live our 80 years in the same bodies, with the same pairs of eyes, the same ears, the same minds.
As kids, we all dream of faraway places: maybe the streets of Dublin, the courts of imperial Russia, the waters off the coast of Cuba.
Now, most of us realize the narrow nature of our perspective: how can we open our eyes to being a black man in the 1960's, how can we feel the pain of a soldier who fought in World War II?
As we grow older, we are told that we must learn to be content with our lives. Society is built on nine-to-fives, wouldn't we rather be settled down than worried about what country we will be in tomorrow?
Right now, we're young. Hopefully we aspire to see the world and accompany those that need it.
But now, the best we can do is grab a story about a life different than hours and start reading.
