Before he was fully awake he started reciting his morning prayers.

They were part of him. Oftentimes the eyes look surprised at the body because of the mind's complete control over it and the hands do work before the brain confirms the plan, subconscious leading conscious down a dimly lit hall.

Only several seconds into his Sunday preceded his stop, his uncomfortable pause, as he remembered his war with himself.

He kept going, hesitantly, feeling for the Light in the dark, wishing it was a switch he could throw.

Sadly no such switch existed. Existence? Why was he saying weird rehearsed things to himself?

It rained softly outside. He decided he had an obligation to no one to go through the motions of his day but he rose to do them anyways.
